My name is Garvin Arrell.
I
am a retired chief of police from the Surprise, Arizona Police Department
(2001, 10 years)
and a retired captain from
the Honolulu, Hawaii Police Department (1990, 25 years)
and served in the U.S. Army's
Army Security Agency for
three years.
Being retired
has many rewards, one of which is having the time to collect law enforcement
memorabilia and to have a historical perspeotive on law enforcement agencies.
Over the past few years I
sold off about 6000 patches from my collection and I now concentrate on
Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona, South Pacific and state shape patches. This site
displays my collection of state shape patches, which I have been told
is the largest of its kind
known, containing 2816 patches, my Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona and South Pacific
collection is at the bottom of the page.
I only collect state shape
law enforcement, posse, search & rescue, corrections, security, arson
investigators, fire marshals, fish & game, forestry and others related
to these areas. I also collect
Arizona ONLYstate
shape fire patches.
There is a non related law
enforcement section (Miscellaneous) which
is not included in the above
total.
I do not activly collect
this type of state shape but these were given to me.
If you have any state shape
law enforcement or related agency patches
I am missing, that you are
willing to part with, please Email
me here and
I will purchase or trade for them. I know of
over 160 I do not have.
There is a section at the bottom of this page
with pictures of patches
I am looking for. These are just ones I know of,
I am sure there are many
more. I have added a site meter/counter to monitor how many visit the site
since July 20, 2011.
I
believe most all of them to be authentic, but there are some novelty and
possibly
a
couple of cut outs among them. Some may look the same but there is a size,
letters,
border, seal, cut, material
or some difference in the patch which might not be
readily apparent.
A few are error patches. The number next to the state name is the number
of patches from that state.
Enjoy looking them over, however
I have watermarked them
to keep them from being reproduced.
Some of the writing
on the patches is a little
difficult to see with the
watermark so I am adding
text to those patches.
I recently added Honolulu
Police Shooting medals from 1938 - 1962, coins and medals in the Honolulu
County section under Medals Page 1 & 2.
These patches have been and
are displayed at law enforcement conventions and conferences.
I also have 1090 badges in
my collection but have cut back on collecting these items and currently
only collect Hawaii, Alaska and Arizona badges.
I also have my own badge,
patch, pin and coin business and have done badges, patches, coins and pins
for a number of law enforcement and security agencies. My business name
is Security & Law Enforcement Equipment (SLEE). If you need more info
just Email
me here
NOTE:Please do not ask me to
send un-watermarked copies. This is my collection, not for sale or
trade. However if you have a patch I need please contact me to work
out a sale or possible trade. My trade list is at the bottom of the
site. I only trade for state shape, Hawaii, Alaska, and Arizona patches
I need for my collection. I also have access to traders from another collector
friend if need be.
I DO NOT SELL/ TRADE PATCHES
FROM MY COLLECTION NOR SELL FROM MY TRADE LIST
